A parking lot collision is considered a minor accident and is often caused by distractions and lack of focusing on driving.  Here are some tips to prevent these absurd and quite frequent car little kisses:

• Extreme your caution in supermarkets and shopping centers parking lots: avoid peak hours and weekends, when these places are crowded and packed with cars.

• Leave your cell phone aside and stay focused while parking: Wait until you are parked to text, call or do whatever you need to do. ¡Eyes on the road!

• Drive slowly and in defensive mode: It will give you time to react to any obstacle.

• Stay alert to your surroundings: Watch out for pedestrians, children, distracted drivers and stray shopping carts.

• In back-up maneuvers, trust your back-up camera, mirrors and your own eyes: your driver assistance systems like radars, sensors and beeping ultrasonic devices are also pretty useful; use every possible precaution to be sure there is no one or nothing behind your car and that the path is clear.

• Respect signs and pavement markings: They are specially designed to make your parking experience a safe one.

• Use the turn signals:  this will inform other actors in the parking lot of your intentions at all times.

• Prefer parking spots a little further: You will easily find more empty spots and reduce the possibility of being involved in an accident.
