BILL OF LADING

In every vehicle´s shipping process there is a vital document that contains all the details of the transaction: the Bill of Lading (BOL).

WHAT

The Bill of Lading is at the same time a contract and a receipt, also known as a vehicle inspection report. This document has all the basic information of both parties involved, the shipper and the carrier: names, addresses, phone numbers, specifics of the vehicle, current condition, origin, and destination, handling instructions, etc. It also contains all the terms and conditions of the transaction.

WHO

The Bill of Lading is issued by the carrier and provided by the driver. It should be signed both by the representative of the auto transport as well as by the owner (or representative) of the vehicle.

WHEN

After a thorough inspection before the carrier loads the car and upon delivery, after a second inspection, the driver will provide the owner (or representative) of the vehicle with a copy of the original document.

HOW

By signing the BOL, both the shipper and the carrier declare they agree to all terms and information included therein.

WHERE

At the place of origin as well as at the destination and by mutual agreement, both parties will sign the Bill of Lading and keep each a copy of this document.

IMPORTANT

The Bill of Lading is vital in case of claim compensation to the insurance for damage or loss.
